Post by: Rainer SLP on March 18, 2017, 04:47:07 pm
Hi,

I do not know if this was asked previously but on my Laptop C1Pro takes about 2 minutes and 20 seconds to start up.

Anybody else such long time ?

Hi Rainer,

Good question, but what do you mean exactly with startup? Splash screen, or interface, or having loaded all images for the Session or Catalog?

On my laptop it can also take a while before everything settles, but I'm currently working with Large sessions of several thousand images, smaller sessions load faster than large ones. I do wonder why, because between shutting down and starting up there should not be a need to e.g. regenerate previews (just a check if a file is still present, or new files have been added that require building previews for), if that is what the system is doing, but maybe it is pre-cashing a lot more than required?

Cheers,
Bart

Hi Bart,

With start up I mean when I see the whole desktop area ready for working.

After this appears, there is still a certain time during the images are loaded into the thumbnail view which I have as a film strip on the right side.
