So tomorrow I am picking up a decent amount of Broncolor Scoro gear and turning my place into a scene from Dexter for the next week.
I have not rented the dedicated Broncolor flash trigger thinking my Pocket Wizards will do the trick.
Is this correct thinking, or should I just rent the trigger?

Pocket wizards are just fine. I use them all the time with my Bron packs, no issues at all.

I use pocket wizards all the time but for some reason on occasion they get quirky with bron. I've, in a pinch, had to use elinchroms as a slave trigger (pack and head next to the bron pack to fire into the slave cell). If you are using leaf shutter I have tested pw plus, and the new plus3 on the speed setting and none of them sync as high up into faster shutters as the direct pc sync cord (all tested on h4x with credo back, reading rgb numbers off a gray card). I did this to see if it was worth upgrading my old standard plus wizards. It wasn't worth it.

To be clear, they work like 99% of the time, just have been quirky at some clutch moments over the years (verso, scoro, move, and my own grafit). Just enough to annoy but not enough to get too concerned

While Scoro will be your best bet you might consider to have a twin head in case you should need a little more power. Scoros won´t have that freezing effect at higher power settings, so plan accordingly. Moving splashes - especially when close up - are moving fast! But it´s always fun, enjoy!

I've never shot Bron, but I do know that I have had trouble syncing beyond 1/500 with triggers that are not Elinchrom skyports. I've heard good things about the profoto triggers, but wizards and leaf shutter at 1/500+...not something I've had a positive experience with.

Just starting to fool around with them. Just did a macro splash of a cocktail onion into a Martini Glass, ISO 50 at f/16, tack sharp!
Damn, this makes the Pro gear seem like toys.

+1 on power. Bron flash duration is at the lower power. If you aren't mixing ambient and have a dark studio I wouldn't worry about pushing the sync fast anyway
