I swear i wasn't out yesterday to do street, i went for the staircase, but apparently my intuition got the better of me.
Even the dustbin seemed to say
Throw your iphone away
And look beneath
For the flowers to ease
Your mind at peace

Perhaps this gentleman is texting
"There is this creepy photographer guy taking my picture when all I am doing is looking at the flowers. What should I do?" LoL
But seriously, why are you assuming that this gentleman had not looked at the flowers before?

Ah, that would explain the police chase later that day... ;-)
Not assuming anything, she likely was sending images of the flowers to her hipstergram account, the corridor is filled with them and people come there especially to photograph those.

Since I don't carry a cell phone with me, I tend to look around, at flowers and at people.
Almost never have I seen a person carrying a cell phone stop to look at anything else, even while crossing a busy street.
Great shot Opgr, and yes, the trash can is essential.
