Title: 5D Mark iv - Multi Controller Button and moving focus point...?
Post by: Dinarius on March 03, 2017, 01:33:14 pm
There is an equivalent to the Multi Controller button on my old 1Ds Mark lll.

With it, I could move around the focus point, while looking thro the viewfinder.\

In Live View mode, I could also move around the focus point and then zoom in to focus manually.

On my 5D, I have the second of the above two working - i.e. manually focusing in live view mode.

But, I can't work out how to dedicate the Multi Controller button (it's the one below the Start/Stop button) to moving around the focus point, while looking thro' the viewfinder.

How can I set it to do this?

Thanks.

Sorted:

1. Choose the Custom Function option. (Second from right of Menu options)
2. Choose No. 3
3. Choose Custom Controls
4. Choose Multi Controller button (above the Off button on the list)
5. Assign "Direct AF point selection" to the button and click Set.

Now you can use the Multi Controller button to move around the Auto Focus point, while looking thro' the viewfinder.
