I will be upgrading my desktop computer soon and would like to hear any recommendations that others have regarding quiet computer cases. I don't need silent but would like something that is a genuine improvement over a standard ATX case. Based on a few reviews I am leaning towards a Fractal Design Define R5 but am keen to hear from others.
Cheers,
Gary

I have one of the Fractal Design Define models, don't recall each one. Sits under the table, I don't hear it in a pretty quiet environment.
But, I think the case only plays a smaller role compared to the rest of the components; I chose specifically things that are known to be quiet. The CPU fan, the source (which does have a fan but doesn't kick in that quickly and has no coil whine), a GPU with a single fan, the working drives are SSD only.

HI Gary,
I have the R5 - it's a great case. Very versatile.
Seems quiet for the majority of work. When the system is revving (I think it's overclocked) you can hear it, but that's not the case, it's the fans for the watercoolers.
Cheers
