Title: Mac Graphics Card for 4K Display?
Post by: deanwork on January 12, 2017, 04:52:41 pm

I am about to buy a couple of the BenQ 4K displays, one 27" and one 32",  if I can get them to work on two of my older Macs. I'm going to need new graphics cards though I'm pretty sure?

Does anyone have any experience with doing this an have any words of wisdom, as to specific card or driver needed?

These Macs are 2.66 GHZ Quad Cor Mac Pro early 2009 with Xeon processor.

and an 8 core 2.33 ghz 2007 Mac Pro that currently has an ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 Mb graphics card in it.

Someone is selling the one listed here below for a few hundred bucks. Does anyone know if it will work?

EVGA NVIDIA GTX 680 2GB CUDA Video Card for the Apple Mac Pro with 4K resolution.

Any help or sellers would be appreciated. Seems like New Egg is sold out of everything would want.

I really don't want to spend $600.00 for a card for a $600.00 or $1,300.00 display.
