Title: I.P. address reported on posts
Post by: MarkM on January 10, 2017, 07:26:22 pm
Hi, when I post on this board there is a little link in the bottom right that has a 'report' link and an i.p. address. I've always assumed that this should be my I.P. address and never gave it much thought. But it caught my eye today. The address reported is not the IP address I am posting from. It looks like it belongs to cloudflare (maybe they are doing CDN service for lula and the board software is seeing a proxy address?). Maybe it's not what I think it is, but it looks like a bug so I thought I'd let you know.

I've never noticed an I.P. address on my posts.

Now I see it. It seems to be a separate link from the "Report to moderator link," and hovering the mouse pointer over it just shows a question mark.
If you are brave, you might try clicking that I.P. address and see what happens. Maybe have a fire extinguisher handy, just in case.

That link just pops open a window saying that only you and the moderators can see your IP address.

This is something that showed up after an upgrade.  We're having our web guys look at it and will report back.

Pretty common on forum software, the Cloudflare supposition is a good one, also could be from using a VPN on the visitor end.
