Title: Kingston Memory CF - Anyone used them

This is only one data point, but I have a 2GB Elite Pro CF card from Kingston.  I've not had a single problem with it in my Canon 20D or Minolta A2.  In fact, I later bought a Lexar 80x Pro 1GB card based on the CF database.  Although the Lexar is supposed to be much faster (in the 20D), I cannot tell the difference in use, to be honest.  I am glad I bought it, but YMMV.

I haven't used their CF cards, but Kingston is a big name in memory for desktop PCs.  It's an established, well-regarded company.

The RMA process with Kingston on the faulty card, a 2GB Kingston Elite Pro was painless and straight forward and I have tested the replacement which performs at about the same speed as a 4GB Hitachi microdrive on a 1DS MKII. The Kingston EP card is rated at 50x, but it is quite a bit slower than the Sandisk Ultra II 2GB SD card and is a bit slower than the Lexar 2GB 80x card. It is still a lot faster than a non-enhanced Sandisk card and I think it does represent good value for money.

I have three Kingston 512 cards (orange label) and have used them with no problems and good speed in a Minolta 7i, Minolta A1 and Canon XT.

I have been searching for compact flash cards and found some made by Kingston Technologies - http://www.kingston.com/ukroot/products/cf.asp (http://www.kingston.com/ukroot/products/cf.asp)

These are a lot cheaper than other makes, about £30 cheaper for a 1gb than a Sandisk for example.

Normally, if you buy cheap, you get an inferior product, but as they are offer a good cash saving thought I'd ask to see if anyone has had experience with this make

I also bought a Kingston 2GB Elite Pro CF card for my Nikon D70 and I am happy with it. I have the feeling (no hard data) that it stores images a little bit slower than the 1GB Sandisk Ultra II, but it is a lot cheaper per GB.

Check rob galbraiths' site for CF info.

I have both the standard kingston and the elite pro.  They both work fine.  My sandisk ultra 2 is way faster.

It depends in wich camera you use the card. In an A200 I discover the speed of kingston EP is the same as Sandisk UltraII. You have tocheck your cameramanual for datatransfer rate to CF, or use sites who measure write speed. If that's more than about 5Mb/sec, use the ultra II because its faster (80X) than the Kingston (52x) and the camera can  use the faster speed.

I also have one of the Kingston 512s with an orange label.  It works fine.  I haven't tested it for speed, but I notice no difference for good nor ill on my Canon 1Ds.
