Beautiful mood, very well done. Not too enthused about the fence, but it is what it is :-)

I agree.

Concerning the fence, I tried two different (screen) crops:
1.   You could get rid of the fence altogether by cropping up from the bottom. But that leaves the image feeling sort of empty near the bottom.
2.   You could crop up enough to get rid of much of the fence, but keep most of the road that slants from the lower left up to the village on the right,
and then clone out the remaining pieces of fence using content-aware fill.

Of those two choices, I prefer the second, but I'm not sure it is better than leaving the fence in. The fence, most prominent to our left, does seem to balance the village to the right.

Just stuff to consider. It's a fine image.

Eric and Rajan, thanks.

I tried crops without the fence, but they didn't look right. anyway, my idea when I took it was that the fence illustrated the vastness of the landscape and its stretching away into the distance gave scale.

You are quite right, thus demonstrating once again the wisdom of Russ (about cropping).  ;)

Yeah, I don't agree with Rajan about the fence. The fence belongs.

Outside of that, all I can say is "brrrrr." I used to fly an L-20, the Air Force's designation for the Canadian Beaver, all over Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and southern Canada in winter weather like that. Which is why I always flew with survival gear, a rifle, and enough ammunition to last until spring.
