Phase One just posted their version of report...

Nice plug for this site.
The last paragraph of the link seems to suggest that a trial version of Capture One
and a 10% purchase discount for C1 is 'bundled' with the LL shootout DVD.

According to [a href=\"http://luminous-landscape.com/essays/back-testing.shtml]Michael's article[/url], the trial version of CO is indeed bundled with the DVD. No mention of the 10% discount, but if Phase One is saying that there is a price break on their website...

Yes, there's a 10% discount code if you decide to buy C1 after the 30 day trial is up.
A nice little perk from Phase, no strings attached.

Hell, just buy one of their backs and C1 comes with it and their updates.
And Leaf test is not a plug for themselve?

While they're at it they could as well pay the shipping/handling and make that DVD free. I think all MF solution providers would benefit from more exposure as their products work but must be seen as working to find buyers.

They would benefit from it, but I wouldn't allow it.
I get enough flack and accusations about bias even when I do my level best to ensure fairness. If Phase were to pick up the tab for the disks it would be no better than Leaf publishing the "comparison" that they did – and I'd have no part of that.
A bottle of wine was enough, thank you.
And, just to clarify on the included Capture One trial software. It's necessary because at the moment C1 is the only software that can read raw files from all of the Phase backs as well as the Canons that were tested.
I asked Phase's permission to included trial copies on the disk, and it was granted. They offered a 10% discount to eventual purchasers, and have provided a coupon code which we've put on the disk as well. We make nothing on the transaction. It is there simply for the convenience of purchasers of the comparison disk.

Doesn't Irridient's Raw Developer read Phase One RAWs?

Doesn't Irridient's Raw Developer read Phase One RAWs?

I just looked them up as I was not aware of them and RAW Developer does work with Phase One RAW. However, it is Mac-only, whereas CO supports both Mac and Windows platforms. And, of course, CO was used in the test.
Obviously anyone can d/l Raw Developer and run the RAW files through it instead.

Raw Developer does a very nice job on Phase files, though I'm not too crazy about the user interface.
