Title: processing in C1 Pro, tweaking in CS2
Post by: yodelyo on April 26, 2006, 07:54:31 pm
hi
I process my images in C1 Pro and then when I open them up in Photoshop CS2 they need  LEVEL or CURVE adjustment more often than not. If I open up the LEVELS dialog in CS2 there never seems to be any BLACK on the left side, I need to slide it over to the right to punch up the blacks in the photo. Almost always. I would like to automate this but every photo seems to need different amounts of adjusting. Right now I am processing the Raw files in C1 Pro because I love the software but then I am opening up every image individually and adjusting the blacks!! Any suggestions?

Why not adjust the black point in Capture One? In the exposure tab just move the left slider to where you want it.

If that is all you're doing in PS I would adjust the levels in C1 as suggested. You can manually set the slider of the black point, or pick a black point, or have C1 do an auto levels that can work very well too.

Sometimes I prefer to take a less contrasty image into PS though, so that I can apply curves or levels locally.

Have fun.
