Title: Manufacture date of Canon L lens

I am considering the purchase of a Canon 24-70- 2.8L lens. Is there a way to determine the the manufacture date. I'm trying to avoid a lens thats been sold and returned  multiple times over the last 6 or 12 months.

I don't know if the info posted [a href=\"http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Canon-Lenses/Canon-Lens-Aging.aspx]here[/url] is accurate but you may want to try.
